abstract |
The invention relates to a method for coloring highly transparent thermoplastic materials using an aqueous colorant preparation, and to a novel water-based colorant preparation. The object of the invention was to provide an aqueous colorant preparation and a process for coloring thermoplastic polymer molding materials that effectively reduces or even avoids the undesired increase of the yellowness index under thermal stress. The object is achieved using an aqueous colorant preparation comprising a dispersing additive which, in the dried state, has a mass loss of not more than 15% by weight in isothermal thermogravimetric analysis at 260°C for 60 min. The novel aqueous colorant preparation is pigmentable both with organic and inorganic pigments and contributes to lower colour locus variations in the coloured moulding materials than in the case of the prior art colorant preparations. |
