abstract The methods and compositions of this invention relate to a skin cleansing composition comprising: (a) a low molecular weight, non-crosslinked, linear acrylic copolymer derived from at least one first monomeric component selected from the group consisting of (meth)acrylic acid and at least one second monomeric component selected from the group consisting of one or more C1 to C9 alkyl (meth)acrylates, wherein the low molecular weight copolymer has a number average molecular weight of about 100,000 or less; and (b) at least one non-ethoxylated anionic surfactant comprising more than about 2 weight percent of the skin cleansing composition; wherein the total surfactant load of said skin cleansing composition is not greater than about 9 weight percent of the skin cleansing composition; the pH of said skin cleansing composition is about 6.2 or less; and the skin cleansing composition has a count of 70 kcts/s or less in a light scattering test.
