The invention relates to a method for producing a thermal barrier protection covering a superalloy metal substrate and comprising at least one metal underlayer (13) and a yttrium-stabilized zirconia ceramic layer (14). having a columnar structure defining pores. The following steps are implemented; the impregnation of a part of the pores of the ceramic layer (14) with a zirconia-based sol is carried out by sol-gel, and in order to form an anchoring sub-layer (22), one forms on said ceramic layer surmounted by said anchoring sub-layer (22), a continuous oxide-based protective layer (20), by sol-gel, and a heat treatment is carried out, whereby an outer protective layer against CMAS attack of the thermal barrier (11).
