Islet cell sheet, process for production thereof, and use thereof |
abstract |
Sheet-like islet cells can be produced by: culturing islet cells on a cell culture support, of which the surface has been coated with a polymer having a hydration force that changes in a temperature range from 0 to 80°C, at a temperature at which the hydration force of the polymer becomes weak; and subsequently changing the temperature of a culture solution to a temperature at which the hydration force of the polymer becomes strong. The sheet-like islet cells thus produced have an insulin production function even under blood-unflowing conditions. |
