abstract |
The present invention provides a tablet and a composition comprising a bicarbonate salt of sevelamer and a monovalent anion source, wherein the monovalent anion comprises at least 0.05% by weight of the combined weights of the sevelamer bicarbonate and the monovalent anion source. The present invention also provides a pharmaceutical composition comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or diluent and a carbonate salt of sevelamer and a monovalent anion source, wherein the monovalent anion comprises at least 0.05% by weight of the combined weight of the sevelamer bicarbonate and the monovalent anion source. The invention also provides for the use of such pharmaceutical compositions (a) for removing phosphate from a patient, and (b) in the manufacture of a medicament for removing phosphate from a patient. |
