titleOfInvention | Perilla-derived promoter functioning in petals |
abstract | Provided is a novel promoter which is useful for changing the flower color of a plant, namely, a nucleic acid selected from the group consisting of: (1) a nucleic acid comprising the base sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 1; (2) a nucleic acid which is capable of functioning as the transcription regulatory region of Perilla frutescens var. crispa anthocyanin 3-acyl-transferase and comprises a base sequence derived from the base sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:1 by the addition, deletion and/or substitution of one to several base sequences; (3) a nucleic acid which is capable of functioning as the transcription regulatory region of P. frutescens var. crispa anthocyanin 3-acyltransferase and hybridizable, under highly stringent conditions, with a nucleic acid comprising a base sequence that is complementary to the base sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 1; and (4) a nucleic acid which is capable of functioning as the transcription regulatory region of P. frutescens var. crispa anthocyanin 3-acyl-transferase and has at least 90% sequential homology with the base sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 1. |
