titleOfInvention Fly attractant system with toxicant-treated cords
abstract Systems, devices, apparatus and methods of attracting and capturing fly type insects with toxicant treated darkened cords and strips attached to sidewall surface(s) of housings. The darkened cords and strips can be natural cord fibers, such as but not limited to black wool yarn strips soaked with insecticide baits, so as to confuse flies into believing the strip(s) are cracks and crevices across the sidewall surfaces. The attracted flies feed off the insecticide treated strips and are killed at that location over time. The housings can be cylindrical and/or rectangular and/or other geometrical shapes, and can include second housings suspended beneath a main housing by attaching bottom ends of the strips to the lower suspended second housing. Other embodiments can include at least one black line over a blue background to simulate a harborage to attract flying insects.
