titleOfInvention | Herbicide composition and weed control method |
abstract | The present invention relates to a herbicide composition comprising an oily extract as an active ingredient, which oily extract is obtained by cooling a steam containing volatile substances in a drying step of a lumber of trees belonging to the order Pinales, or by subjecting wood chips, sawdust or wood powder to the hot water extract or steam distillation. The herbicide composition of the present invention has a broad herbicidal spectrum against plants including monocot plants, dicot plants, perennial plants and annual plants; and has both of a foliar application activity and a soil (soil incorporated) application activity, and can control target weed species accurately, immediately and over a long term. Therefore, the labor or cost required for the spraying of the herbicide can be largely reduced. Further, a steam generated in a drying step of a lumber of trees belonging to the order Pinales, wood chips, sawdust or wood powder produced during the processing of the lumber is usually discarded and therefore the herbicidal composition enables recycling of waste materials as well. In addition, the herbicidal composition is a natural pesticide, and therefore enables reducing the negative environmental impact. |
