titleOfInvention Real-time robust method for determining the trajectory of one or more cetaceans by means of passive acoustics, using a laptop computer
abstract The invention relates to a passive path tracking method of at least one marine animal emitting sound signals in the form of clicks, in particular at least one cetacean, in which one proceeds during successive processing time windows, acquisition of signals rough analogs from a plurality of H hydrophones arranged in the marine environment, and then convert these raw analog data into data digital sampling at a certain sampling frequency Fe. This method is characterized in that it further comprises the following steps conducted in real time: a. a filtering (13,14) of the digital data capable of eliminating the parasitic noises and to keep (15,16) among the numerical data, those that correspond for each couple of hydrophones and each treatment window, to potential values of arrival time differences of sound signals to reach two distinct hydrophones, these values potential being noted as TDOA; b. for each pair of hydrophones, check (17) the coherence of the obtained TDOAs, and keep (18) a number, denoted nbTDOA, of TDOA filtered and coherent with each other; vs. at from nbTDOA TDOA filtered and coherent between they are determined by nonlinear regression (19) instantaneous positions successive sources of clicks, and we deduce (20) in real time the trajectory of said at least one marine animal in its environment.
