abstract |
A process for selective production of crystal A of 2- (3-cyano-4-isobutyloxyphenyl)-4-methyl-5-thiazolecarboxylic acid which comprises dissolving 2-(3-cyano-4-isobutyloxy- phenyl)-4-methyl-5-thiazolecarboxylic acid in methanol or a methanol/water mixed solvent (having a methanol/water volume ratio of 90/10 or above), adding water to the resulting solution to adjust the methanol/water ratio to 7/3, and adding a specified amount of seed crystals to the solution during the addition of water at a specified stage. |
