abstract An insertion assisting tool when inserting an endoscope into the gastric fistula catheter that has been inserted in the fistula formed in the patient's body comprises a cylindrical body that can be engaged with a gastric fistula catheter wherein an endoscope can be inserted through a valve press member and a sealing member. The valve press member can be installed detachably by screwing the screw threads with the edge portion at an opposite side of the portion engaged with the gastric fistula catheter in the cylindrical body, and is formed in a cap form having a hole portion in the sealing portion. The sealing member seals the space between the cylindrical body and the endoscope when it is pressed against the endoscope set at the space between the end portion of the cylindrical body and the valve press member.
