titleOfInvention | Personal care compositions comprising ionic liquids |
abstract | Personal care compositions comprising ionic liquids are disclosed. The ionic liquids may have a clogP value within the range of from 0 to 12, and remain 95 percent to 100 percent non--dissociated in water. The ionic liquid may also comprise a combination of a soft or hard acid and a soft or hard base. In certain applications, the personal care composition comprises an ionic liquid comprising a soft acid and a soft base, the ionic liquid having a melting point of less than 100 °C and a clogP value within the range of from 0 to 12; and a benefit agent that preferentially associates with the ionic liquid relative to water, where the benefit agent provides a benefit to keratinous materials. |
