A method of highly durable repair coating that in repair coating against fast rust and thick rust having occurred on steel structures with large area, such as bridge, ironmaking process intermediate products during storage, etc., attains simplicity, high speed, efficiency and effectiveness and, despite low cost, high workability and safety, and that ensures high-quality coating durability after repair. In the execution of highly durable repair coating on coated or noncoated steel structure, the substrate is conditioned so that the coated or noncoated steel structure exhibits a substrate exposure area ratio of 60% or more, and coated with a 5 to 500 g/L aqueous solution of sodium carbonate as a pretreatment liquid, optionally according to necessity further coated with a highly anticorrosive zinc powder containing coating composition wherein there are contained 100 parts by mass of binder resin (solid contents weight), 200 to 800 parts by mass of zinc powder, 1 to 95 parts by mass of corrosive ion fixing agent and 200 to 1000 parts by mass of solvent. |
