titleOfInvention Biodegradable needle punch carpet
abstract The present invention provides needle punch carpets for intensive use, as well as methods of manufacture of the same. The needle punch carpets are substantially, and preferably completely biodegradable. A needle punch carpet according to the present invention comprises a needle felt and at least one backing layer, wherein both the needle felt and the at least one backing layer comprise at least 90%, preferably at least 95%, more preferably at least 98% and most preferred 100% of polymeric biodegradable material, for example poly (L-lactic acid) and poly (D-lactic acid), respectively.
