The invention encompasses a process for granulating particles that produces homogeneous, free flowing, attrition resistant, uniform sized granules using a Wurster unit operation (Fig. 1). When utilized with active pharmaceutical ingredients, such granules can be further processed into controlled released or taste- masked pharmaceutical formulations. Particularly, the process can be utilized to make an oral granule formulation of etoricoxib for treating pain and inflammation in patients that cannot swallow a tablet, such as young children and the elderly. |
