titleOfInvention | A disinfectant formulation |
abstract | A disinfectant system is supplied in two packs, which when mixed together and diluted provides a disinfectant solution having the active peroxyacid disinfectant present at a suitable level. The system includes a first pack having a pH of from 7-9.5 and containing hydrogen peroxide, an alkali metal borate salt, and a peroxide solution. The second pack having a pH of from 6-10, has an activator - which reacts with hydrogen peroxide to generate the peroxyacid - a structuring electrolyte and a surfactant. Suitable ratios of first to second pack suitable are from 1:100 to 100:1 by weight. A corrosion inhibitor is included where the disinfectant is to be used in respect of metal surfaces. In order to activate the borate a diol containing compound is included which engages with the borate and assists in its solubilisation. |
