abstract |
It is intended to provide a method of inhibiting tumor proliferation which comprises the step of inhibiting the expression of PDGF-A or the binding of PDGF-A homodimer to PDGFR.alpha.. Activation of the PDGFR .alpha.-p70S6K signal transfer pathway by PDGF-AA, which is an important factor in tumor angiogenesis, relates to the prognosis of a patient suffering from tumor. By inhibiting the expression of PDGF-A in a tumor or a tissue around it or by inhibiting the binding of PDGF-A homodimer to PDGFR.alpha., angiogenesis in the tumor and retention of the blood vessels can be inhibited and thus the tumor proliferation can be inhibited. |
