abstract |
The invention provides a method for generating a type II diabetes mellitus and/or Syndrome X model in pigs. A method of the invention comprises partially destructing pancreatic beta-cells in pigs. From said pigs, a pig is preferably selected that comprises a fasting plasma glucose level higher than mmol/L. The invention further provides a pig according to the invention and uses thereof. |
