Compounds derived from indole and use of said compounds for the preparation a drug useful for treating diseases related to the splicing process pre-messenger RNAs in the cell, including fungal frontotemporal dementia related to chromosome 17 (a form of Parkinson's disease), Leigh syndrome (type of encephalopathy), atypical cystic fibrosis, certain neuropathologies including Alzheimer's linked to a mutation of the Tau protein, the amyotrophy that affects the SMN (Survival of Motor Neuron) gene, depression due to disruption of serotonin splicing, and certain cancers in which the overall process of splicing is affected (including breast cancer, colon cancer and certain lymphomas), as well as viral diseases such as AIDS. |
