Process for producing albumin preparations comprising virus-removing filtration |
abstract |
A highly safe and stable albumin preparation, which is less contaminated with infective foreign viruses, is efficiently produced on a commercial scale. Namely, a process involving the removal step of treating a serum albumin-containing solution with a virus-removing membrane preferably having a pore size of 10 to 20 nm. In particular, the filtration is carried out prior to a heat treatment for inactivating viruses. In a still preferred embodiment, a pretreatment of treating with an anion exchanger and a prefilter is carried out prior to the filtration step. |
