Methods of treating inflammatory diseases associated with bone destruction |
abstract |
A method of treating an inflammatory disease associated with bone destruction which comprises the step of administering a virus vector having a gene inhibiting the signal transduction mediated by fibroblast growth factor 2 (FGF2)-FGF receptor 1-Ras-Raf-MAP kinase to the affected site. A composition for treating an inflammatory disease associated with bone destruction which contains the above vector. By inhibiting the FGF2 signal transduction by topically administering the virus vector, inflammation and bone destruction in inflammatory bone destruction can be successfully suppressed at the same time. Thus, a method of specifically and effectively treating inflammatory bone diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, which can be hardly treated hitherto, and a composition for treating the same are provided. |
