abstract An improved cartridge (21) has a test chamber and an overflow vestibule. The handle portion has flared grips (37, 38) and a trough to prevent adhesive form entering the analysis region. A stopper made from a single elastomer seals the test chamber and vestibule, and has a locking mechanism that mates with keepers in the handle. An improved method for filling the cartridge provides even distribution of magnetic particles.
