abstract | A gesture feature recognition system and method is provided. The gesture feature recognition system comprises an input/output component for recording pen strokes and for displaying them as strokes on a display device, a repository for storing gesture recognition data and a recognizer component for analyzing the strokes using the gesture recognition data. The method comprises the steps of receiving input data that represents the stroke sequence of handwritten characters and symbols, comparing the input data to a predefined symbol set stored in a repository, identifying characters and symbols present in the input data, and identifying the location of relevant features of the characters and symbols. |
