abstract |
A process for producing CMP-N-acetylneuraminic acid (CMP-NeuAc) characterized in that yeast cells, N-acetylglucosamine-6-phosphate 2-epimerase (GlcNAc-6P 2-epimerase), N-acetylneuraminate lyase (NeuAc lyase) and CMP-N-acetylneuraminate synthase (CMP-NeuAc synthase) are added to a reaction system containing N-acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc), pyruvic acid and cytidine-5~-monophosphate (CMP) and reacted. Another process for producing CMP-NeuAc characterized in that yeast cells, GlcNAc-6P 2-epimerase, NeuAc synthase and CMP-NeuAc synthase are added to a reaction system containing GlcNAc and CMP and reacted. |
