Use of t-cell immune response cdna 7 (tirc7) for modulation of angiogenesis and/or neovascularization |
abstract |
A novel use of T-cell immune response cDNA 7 (TIRC7) in angiogenic and anti-angiogenic therapy is described. Provided are agents such as anti-TIRC7 antibodies and methods of treatment which through modulating the activity of TIRC7 can be used for enhancing or suppressing angiogenesis and/or neovascularization, an important feature in many pathological conditions including wound healing, solid tumors, developing metastases, ischemic heart diseases and diabetic retinopathy. Furthermore, diagnostic methods for the detection of such diseases using TIRC7 specific agents are provided. |
