A honeycomb structural body (1), a method of manufacturing the structural body, and a method of measuring the outer peripheral distortion of the structural body, the structural body (1) comprising porous cell partition walls (2) forming the complex of a plurality of cells (3) adjacent to each other and a porous honeycomb outer wall (4) holdingly surrounding the outermost peripheral cells positioned on the outermost periphery of the cell complex, wherein the porosity of the cell partition walls is 5 to less than 30% and the outer peripheral distortion of the honeycomb structural body (1) is 0.030 or less, whereby excellent and practical erosion resistance and isostatic strength can be provided in honeycomb structural bodies having various types of cell structures. |
