The carboxylic acid derivative is represented by the following general formula (I). Also provided are a salt or ester of the derivative and a hydrate of either. (I) In the formula, R1 represents carboxyl, alkyl, alkoxy, etc.; L and T each represents a single bond, alkylene, alkynylene, etc.; M represents alkylene, etc.; W represents carboxyl; X represents oxygen, -NRX1CQ1O-, -OCQ1NRX1-, -CQ1NRX1O-(wherein Q1 represents oxygen, etc. and RX1 represents hydrogen, alkyl, etc.), etc.; and Y and Z each represents an optionally substituted 5- to 14-membered aromatic group, etc.
