abstract The colloidal dispersion of the invention is a dispersion of a compound of cerium or a compound of cerium and at least one other element chosen from titanium, vanadium, chromium, manganese, iron, cobalt, nickel, copper, zinc, aluminum, gallium, zirconium and rare earths other than cerium, and it is characterized in that it comprises an acid amino, this acid being at least partly linked to the constituent particles of the dispersion. This dispersion can be used on a substrate as an agent anticorrosion, in the preparation of polymer films, in a composition cosmetic, in catalysis in particular for automotive post combustion, in lubrication or in ceramics.
