The invention relates to a method for treating a refuse material containing hydrocarbons, especially treating mill scale tails and/or grinding tails, whereby the refuse material, while preferably being moved, is heated by indirect heat supply and is liberated thereby from hydrocarbons, optionally together with other volatile constituents, especially H2O. To this end, a targeted decomposition of the hydrocarbons is carried out in the dryer at a low temperature. The decomposition is carried out by means of chemical and/or radiation-technology aids, which effect a decomposition of the hydrocarbons, which are not easily volatilized, into easily volatile hydrocarbons, preferably a decomposition of hydrocarbons having a high molecular weight into hydrocarbons having a lower molecular weight. The hydrocarbons, optionally together with the other volatile constituents, especially with the H2O, are at least partially removed from the vessel, in particular, by means of suction. The invention also relates to a corresponding device for treating a refuse material containing hydrocarbons. |
