abstract A method for growing a model biofilm is disclosed. In one embodiment, the method comprises the steps of placing a plurality of surfaces comprising a t op and a bottom on an inoculated growth medium (wherein the growth medium is in contact with a nutrative source), growing a model biofilm on the bottom of t he plurality of surfaces, and removing the surfaces from the growth medium, wherein a model biofilm is coated onto the bottom of the surface.
