abstract The invention relates to processes for preparing bead polymers with an average particle size in the range from 1 to 40 µm, in which a polymerizable mix which comprises at least 50% by weight of (meth)acrylates is dispersed in an aqueous phase and polymerized. The dispersion, stabilized using an aluminium compound, is prepared at a shear rate >= 10 3 s -1. The bead polymers prepared by the process of the invention are particularly suitable for producing mouldings with a matt surface. The bead polymers may moreover be used advantageously in PAMA plastisols, dental compositions, and for production of plastic moulds, in particular for the ceramics industry.
