abstract Described herein are adjuvants containing as the active ingredient an attenuated toxin having a residual activity of at least 1/2000 the activity of the natural toxin and vaccines containing such adjuvants. By using, for example, attenuated natural cholera toxin, vaccines capable of showing sufficient immune potentiation in percutaneous vaccination or nasal vaccination can be presented.
