abstract The present invention relates to nutritional and pharmaceutical compositions. More particularly it is concerned with improving compositions which due to the presence of an efflorescent component may be unstable and prone to decomposition and/or spoilage. The problem is overcome by incorporating one or more anhydrous compounds into the composition in an amount capable of sequestering any water which may be released from one or more water containing components. The preferred anhydrous compounds are anhydrous or calcined MgSO4 and CaO.
