titleOfInvention Method for pressure treating wood
abstract The present invention is a process for pressure treating wood (6), where the process comprises the steps of removing air from the wood by vacuum chamber (2), infusion by pressure into the wood of a solution (10) of water and an anhydride or the analogous acid of the anhydride, followed by removal of excess moisture (13) from the wood by heating, and the infusion into the woo d of a molten waxy solid (14) comprising hydrocarbon paraffins or saturated fatty acids, which solidifies in the wood voids.
