titleOfInvention Process for the extraction of lipids from bird's skin and fat tissues
abstract We describe a method for the extraction of lipids from bird's adipose tissues and skin. Tissues are first grinded and extracted with organic solvents such as acetone, or ethyl acetate, or ethanol or their combination under various conditions. After separation of the insoluble material by decantation, or filtration, or centrifugation , the organic solvents are evaporated .The technique which has been standardised with Emu fatty tissues , has also been successfully applied to chicken and domestic duck tissues . The residual volatile matter is removed from the lipid extract by heating at high temperature for a given period of time, in conditions that preserve the quality of the lipids.
