A novel microorganism strain Trichosporonoides kounosuensis 7E-1 (FERM BP6572) which is a useful microorganism having taxonomic characteristics different from any species belonging to the genus Trichosporonoides and showing a high productivity of polyols such as erythritol. The use of this microorganism makes it possible to efficiently produce polyols such as erythritol. |
