abstract Preventives/remedies for arteriosclerosis containing as the active ingredient compounds represented by general formula (1), potential optically active isomers thereof, or pharmaceutically acceptable salts of the same. In said formula (1) R1 represents hydrogen or acyl; R2 represents lower alkyl; R3 represents hydrogen or lower alkyl; and R4, R5 and R6 represent each hydrogen, alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl or aryl, or R2 and R4 may form together with the oxygen atom a furan or dihydrofuran ring, and R5 and R6 may form together cycloalkyl on which at least one methylene is optionally substituted by oxygen, sulfur or alkylated nitrogen to give a heterocycle.
