abstract |
A noble metal hydrocracking catalyst which has high selectivity for naphtha range products and a process for its preparation are provided. The hydrocracking catalyst comprises: (a) from 70 to 95 weight percent of a Y zeolite, based on the catalyst having a silica to alumina mole ratio of from 4.8 to less than 6.0, a unit cell constant in the range of 24.50 to 24.57, an Na2O level of less than or equal to 0.25 weight percent; (b) from 10 to 30 weight percent, based on the catalyst: of an alumina having a mercury intrusion pore volume in the range from 0.55 to 0.85 cc/g; and (c) from 0.5 to 1 weight percent, base d on the catalyst of a noble metal; wherein said hydrocracking catalyst has a dispersivity of the noble metal of equal or greater than 48 % by hydrogen chemisorption measurement, a surface area of greater than or equal to 690 m2/g by BET surface area measurement, a compact ed bulk density in the range of from 0.40 to 0.58 g/cc, and a mercury pore volume in the range of from 0.4 to 0.7 ml/g. |
