abstract Aminohydrofluorides with the general formula (I): R-N(CH2CH2OH)2 . HF in which R is a straight-chain hydrocarbon residue with 10 to 20 carbon atoms, have an anti-bacterial and caries-prophylactic effect. They can be prepared in a higher purity than other known aminohydrofluorides like, for example, olaflur. Aminohydrofluorides of the formula (I), or mixtures of two or more of these, can be formulated as oral hygiene preparations.
