titleOfInvention | Monocot transformation using acrobacterium |
abstract | The present invention is directed to a method for the transformation of a monocot plant comprising exposing explant tissue of said monocot to an Agrobacterium strain under vacuum in the presence of a phenolic compound, said Agrobacterium strain comprising a heterologous gene of interest within a vector. The Agrobacterium is removed from the explant tissue, and an antibiotic against the Agrobacterium is added, and the transformed tissue is plated onto growth medium, grown, and then plated onto selection media. The method may be used with vectors comprising either a vir+ vector, or a super virulent vector. |
