titleOfInvention Pool of yeast of the genus candida maltosa used for the biodegradation of petroleum product pollutants, biological preparation obtained using this pool and methods for its preparation and application
abstract The present invention pertains to the field of bio-technologies and to the protection of the environment, and relates to the purification of water, soil and other media which have been contaminated by petroleum products. The purification method of the present invention uses a biological preparation that contains a pool of yeast of the Candida maltosa genus from the strains VKPM Y-2256 and Y-2257. These strains can be present in the pool in any proportion but preferably in a proportion of 1:1. The biological preparation may be used for removing pollution caused by a large variety of hydrocarbons contained in crude oil and petroleum products such as gas-oil, oils, etc. The preparation may be used to remove contaminants at temperatures up to +41 ~C, in conditions where the pH varies between 3.0 and 9.0 as well as in salt-containing ecosystems. The method for producing this biological preparation comprises simultaneously cultivating the above-mentioned yeast strains in a liquid nutrient medium and further separating and removing the biomass thus grown. The biomass can also be dried in order to obtain a powdered preparation. In order to clean the different media contaminated by petroleum products, this method comprises applying an aqueous suspension of said preparation with a nitrogen-phosphate additive.
