The invention relates to a process for the production of glycoprotein G from rabies virus, or a virus related to the rabies virus, characterized by: i) the introduction, into a plant cell, of an acid molecule nucleic acid comprising a chimeric coding sequence, comprising on the one hand a sequence coding for said mature viral G protein, or for a protein analog, and on the other hand, a sequence coding for a signal peptide N-terminal other than that naturally associated with viral protein G, the introduction of the chimeric coding sequence allowing expression in the protein G cell; ii) multiplication, in the form of culture cell, transformed cells, or the regeneration of whole plants transgenic or chimeric from these cells; iii) possibly extracting and purifying glycoprotein G from cells or plant tissue thus obtained. |
