4-benzoylisothiazoles have the general formula (1), in which the substituents have the following meanings: X stands for oxygen or sulphur; R1 stands for hydrogen, alkyl, alkenyl, alkinyl, optionally substituted alkoxycarbonyl, aryl, heterocyclyl or hetaryl; R2 stands for hydrogen, alkyl, alkenyl, alkinyl, cycloalkyl or cycloalkenyl, whereas these radicals can bear one or several halogen, alkyl, alkenyl or alkinyl groups, or R2 stands for aryl, hetaryl or heterocyclyl; R3 stands for a radical of general formula (2), in which Z and the R4, R5, R6 and R7 substituents have the meanings given in claim 1. Also disclosed are the salts commonly used in agriculture of the 4benzoylisothiazoles of general formula (1), a process for preparing the same and their use as herbicides. |
