titleOfInvention Hydrophilic polyester-polyurethane foams, a process for their production, and their use as moisture-absorbing materials
abstract A process for the production of hydrophilic polyester-polyurethane foams is described. This process is characterized by reacting a) one or more polyisocyanates, with b) one or more polyester polyols containing at least two hydroxyl groups and having a mean molecular weight in the range from 400 to 10,000, c) one or more ethoxylated polyether polyols containing at least two hydroxyl groups and having a degree of ethoxylation of more than 30% by weight and a functionality in the range from 2 to 6, and d) optionally, one or more chain extenders and/or crosslinking agents which contain at least two active hydrogen atoms and having a mean molecular weight in the range from 32 to less than 400, in the presence of e) catalysts, water and/or blowing agents, and f) optionally auxiliary substances and additives. The use of these hydrophilic polyester-polyurethane foams as moisture- absorbing materials in the hygiene and domestic sector, as well as for automobile interior finishes is also described.
