abstract | The present invention provides an electro- or opto-optical device comprising NLO polymer in the active layer with improved stability for light in the wavelength range of 600-1600 nm which is guided through the device. The present invention is directed to an electro- or opto-optical device comprising an active layer wherein the active layer comprises a polymer mixed with an NLO chromophore or a polymer having side-chains with NLO chromophores, the NLO chromophore having an N-donor-.pi.-system-acceptor structure, the .pi.-system thereof being selected from R' and one of the structures (a), (b) or (c); wherein Y is hydrogen, CN, or halogen, and R' is independently selected from (d), (e), (f), (g), (h), (i) and (j). |
