A mother-battery comprising at least the following films is used: a metallic lithium or metallic sodium anode, a conductive polymer electrolyte of the alkaline ions of the anode and also acting as a separator between the electrodes, a composite cathode consisting of a reducible lithium or sodium compound, an electronic conduction additive and a polymer electrolyte binder, a thin electronically conductive coating on the outer face of the anode and, optionally, the cathode, the conductive material of which is chemically inert vis-à-vis the electrode material and which is also used to establish the permanent electrical contacts on the outer faces. This is followed by a sharp mechanical cutting of said laminated main stack of larger area and at least partially loaded. Thin batteries with polymer electrolyte and lithium or sodium anode are obtained. The cells thus cut retain their voltage substantially after mechanical cutting or recover it by a self-healing mechanism. |
