titleOfInvention | Tuberculocidal synergistic disinfectant compositions and methods of disinfecting |
abstract | An aqueous cleaning and disinfecting composition is disclosed that is a synergistic combination of (a) a sufficient amount of a chlorine-containing bleach compound such as sodium hypochlorite or sodium dichloroisocyanurate to provide from about 1,100 parts per million by weight of available chlorine level with (b) from about 600 to 800 parts per million by weight of bactericidal quaternary ammonium compounds such as mixtures of didecyldimethylammonium chloride and (C12-C16alkyl)dimethylbenylammonium chlorides. Such compositions are tuberculocidal at unexpectedly low concentrations. Also disclosed are two component compositions and methods of disinfecting surfaces containing tubercule bacilli and other pathogenic micro-organisms such as bacteria and viruses. |
