abstract | A method of strengthening sprayed coatings by densifying the pores present therein, which comprises sealing the pores with a sealant at the stage of forming a sprayed coating thinner than the final one, drying the sealant sufficiently for solidifying the same, continuing the formation of a sprayed coating, and repeating, if necessary, the above procedures. As a result, the sprayed coating is improved in the resistance to abrasion, corrosion, heat, etc., and the service life of the structural members coated therewith is lengthened. |
