abstract | A method for detecting mammary cancer cells which comprises determining the cells to be tested as mammary cancer cells when a numerical abnormality/aneuploidy (aneusomy) is observed in these cells in: (1) either or both of the first and eleventh chromosomes; (2) either or both of the first and seventeenth chromosomes; or (3) at least one of the first, eleventh and seventeenth chromosomes. This method is superior to the conventional cytodiagnosis in the accuracy and objectiveness in detection of mammary cancer cells while being comparable thereto in convenience and noninvasiveness. |
