titleOfInvention Method for treating aqueous media containing radioactive metal ions
abstract Process for treating aqueous or effluent media containing ions radioactive metals, in particular silver, cobalt, potassium, cesium, antimony, in order to bring the concentration in these ions at a value lower than that from which the radiochemical activity of the aqueous or effluent media in question is lower than that set by regulation and from which they can therefore be rejected; this process includes at least a first step in which the aqueous medium is passed through a filter (1) comprising a layer of petroleum coke granules (3), this thanks what at least 90% of the above radioactive ions can be retained; if, at the end of the first stage, the radiochemical activity is not lowered below the value which constitutes the threshold of rejection, the first step is followed by a second step in which uses a second filter with a particle liner graphite coated with a layer of conductive polymer comprising ethereal encryption cages.
